History & restorationA Bozeman Original,
Beautifully Reawakened
Some places offer a glimpse of history. At Vintage Estate, you can make yourself at home in it.
Built in 1881, Rouse House was the residence of Daniel E. Rouse, who helped John Bozeman and William J. Beall lay out the town in 1864. Its distinctive Gothic gable, warm brickwork, and stone-trimmed arches connect your stay to Bozeman’s earliest chapters.
Individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the home began its newest chapter with a painstaking restoration. Historic architecture and contemporary design come together with carefully integrated modern comforts.
In 2025, Rouse House received Bozeman’s Preservation Innovation award for a large project. SAV Digital Environments’ work on the home also earned Gold and Silver in the CE Pro Home of the Year Awards.
Today, Rouse House is the heart of Vintage Estate: a place to cook, gather around the table, and settle into downtown Bozeman.
